About

My mother was an artist and my father was an art collector. Our home was a comforting gallery of masterpieces by Rodin, Moore, Motherwell, Noland, Smith, Moore, Chagall, Matisse, Pollock, Picasso, and others.

I was a lonely child and these works of art made an impression. Art school came early for me and painting became a practice. During my early exploration of dance and music, and later, while raising my children, I painted to illustrate the world I knew and the mysterious.

My art has been exhibited in Toronto, Washington DC, New York City, and Florida. The book works, Little Raccoon and the Light in the Woods, and Little Chick's Moonlight Spin were followed by international performance tours to schools and community learning centers.

“With a deep understanding of personal creative process, Holly shares her inner thoughts and feelings, taking us on a journey filled with the colors of her imagination. She is a weaver of visual stories that delight the soul and all the senses." - Bonny Lundy, Artist

Statement

My painting practice is an exploration of the unconscious and its effect on the relationship to people, places and things.

Spontaneous life events evolve into imaginative environments, rich with vibrant colors in acrylic and oil, watercolor and pen.

Dreams of Love, Humanity and Nature, Mythology and Spirituality are common themes.

Currently, I am exploring the surrendering and uplifting of the spirit.
